Budget of the United States Government

The yearly produced Budget of the U.S. Government for Fiscal Year 2025 is now available from the U.S. Government Publishing Office Bookstore. The Budget outlines the President’s spending priorities for the federal government from October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2025.

The Budget is accompanied by Analytical Perspectives and an Appendix. The main Budget book provides an overview of the President’s budget for the federal government. The Analytical Perspectives focuses on particular subject areas and issues. The Appendix is an imposing compendium of line items showing precisely what the President plans to fund.

Here are some key points:

Overall Focus: The budget prioritizes continued economic growth while lowering costs for working families, protecting Social Security and Medicare, and investing in infrastructure and education.

Spending Increases: The budget proposes increases in funding for several areas, including the Department of Education, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and research and development for the Department of Defense.

Deficit Reduction: The proposal aims to reduce the deficit over the next decade through tax reform measures and eliminating wasteful spending.

The Budget is an excellent resource for anyone interested in understanding the Federal government budget process.
